7 Websites That Pay You For Your Articles

0

Although you can get paid to write for blogs and magazines, most sites that pay writers often feature publications that use a revenue-sharing model, in other words, how much you make depends on your article’s popularity and you frequently need to get tens of thousands of views on your posts to receive around $50. For the pages and blogs featured on this page, this is not the case.

ALL the publications listed below pay an agreed-upon fee for each article you send that they approve, unlike websites that only give you a portion of the income your article produces in which case little or no feedback means little or no earnings.

Digital Ocean

DigitalOcean is one of the sites that pay for Technical Tutorials with code and this is not limited to Digital Ocean products. They run a Write for Donation Program that supports people who create content for the public knowledge base of DigitalOcean. The authors receive a payment via the program and select a tech-focused charity to receive a matching donation. They pay up to $400 per article, and their articles are mainly focused on Python or Javascript Language.

Draft

Draft allows you to create articles that can be read around the world by a wide variety of readers. As such, they are committed to fostering diversity in their authors and encouraging them to apply to everyone at all levels of experience. You’ve come to the right place if you’re a software developer and you want to create your brand while getting paid to write about interesting technical topics. They pay about $200-$400 for each piece.

Music Tut+

Music Tuts+ is also one of the sites that pay, they are looking for writers with music or audio background/experience. In particular, they are looking for “Short Tips” (a mini-tutorial of approximately 500 words or a screencast of fewer than 5 minutes). They want each article to concentrate on one main point or process. For every article they approve, they pay $50 for it.

Writers Weekly

If you want to get paid to write about writing, you may also want to check out Writers Weekly. Writers Weekly isn’t a newspaper. It is, instead, an online newsletter that is delivered to subscribers who pay.

They concentrate on the topic of the written word ‘selling’ and look for articles that show people how to do exactly this. This publication is for you whether you can write articles based on being paid to write or articles on how to make money writing in some way. They also accept lists of markets that pay authors, creative ideas for book promotion, or something in the industry that is not already “done-to-death.” They pay $60 per article. They pay on acceptance and welcome authors from all over the globe. However, they’ll only be able to pay via PayPal. Take note

Smashing Magazine

One of the biggest names in web design and web creation is Smashing Magazine, and they have been in the game for so long. They are looking for in-depth tutorials and posts on the topic of web design and web creation, research-backed opinion pieces, case studies, and final guides. Articles will cover topics ranging from the user interface to Photoshop, to the smartphone, to pattern design, to e-commerce, to usability, and more. It would most likely be accepted if it leads to a better web experience. Although they don’t specify rates publicly, they are among the sites that pay up to $200 per article. Payment is provided by bank transfer or PayPal.

WPHUB

Every week, WPHUB is looking for new articles and materials and writers will work on suitable topics to publish with their editors. They are looking for 800 to 1,200-word articles with visuals as a guideline. Depending on the subject and length, their rate is usually $100 to $200 per post. They primarily look for topics such as trends in web design and common design principles, insight into top-selling writers and agencies, identifying useful plugins for developers, general WordPress theme and plugin creation, and coding best practices relevant to WordPress.

Photoshop Tutorials

One of the leading Photoshop blogs is PhotoshopTutorials, and they are searching for writers who want to get paid to write tutorials.
Either short articles and round-ups or in-depth tutorials may be contributed. For any short post, round up, or quick tip they accept, they pay $25-$50 for each. However, if you submit a complete tutorial that gets accepted, you will be paid $150-$300 per accepted piece. Payments are made by PayPal.

Medium Partner Program

You know Medium.com, right? You can make money from your writing by joining Medium’s Partner Program. You’ll be able to make anything you publish part of Medium’s membership content and earn when members read your work. That’s basically it. All you have to do is:

  • Join the Partner Program (it’s free).
  • Craft your story.
  • Publish, with the “Meter my story” box checked.
  • Earn money when Medium members spend time reading your work.

5 Trusted Places to Learn Product Management in Nigeria

2

So, working as a Product Manager is cool but It’s not all rosy like you think. If you want to go into Product Management in Nigeria, you’d need to work with teams and team members who will be required to meet goals and targets (KPIs).

You have to work with these teams and team members while being both a co-worker who puts yourself in their shoes and also a Manager (doesn’t make you their boss but you have to push them to meet KPIs)

The difference between a Product Manager and a Product Designer

A Product Manager helps to find what the product is… You will do your research… Surveys… Usability tests etc. BEFORE and AFTER the product is built. Product Managers talk to the customers, understand their needs etc. This is one of the reasons why someone from Customer Support can make a good Product Manager.

A Product Designer handles the “Look and Feel” of a product. They understand what to DESIGN and build AFTER collecting a lot of information from the Product Manager.

So, the product manager defines the “WHAT”, Product Designer handles the “HOW”

In this post, we will be looking at the 5 trusted places to Learn Product Management in Nigeria. These schools and platforms are highly rated and most Product Managers who came up from Nigeria can testify that they have seen or been there before. Let’s get started.

Clubhouse is a new type of network based on voice. When you open the app you can see “rooms” full of people talking—all open so you can hop in and out, exploring different conversations.

What is Clubhouse?

You enter each room as an audience member, but if you want to talk you just raise your hand, and the speakers can choose to invite you up. Or you can create a room of your own. It’s a place to meet with friends and with new people around the world—to tell stories, ask questions, debate, learn, and have impromptu conversations on thousands of different topics. It is currently available for iPhones only but they are working on an Android app.

I’ve been spending most of my time on Clubhouse (or Joinclubhouse) especially when I’m not doing so much at work. Clubhouse is the new radio and It is here to stay – most CEOs and founders wouldn’t stop talking about it. I recently joined a room where Gumroad’s Sahil was talking about how much he loves Clubhouse and how it’s great for team meetings.

Elon Musk on Clubhouse

Before Sahil, Elon Musk hosted an audio-chat with Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev on Clubhouse. It was an interesting event, to be honest. The event maxed out the app conversation room limits and was live-streamed to YouTube, you can watch it here. It helped propel Clubhouse to the top of the startup charts and sparked a scramble for invitations. As of 1 February 2021, Clubhouse has 2 million users and they have gone ahead to announce forthcoming new features.

Prevent Data Collection: How to Unlink your Clubhouse Account From Instagram

I joined a Clubhouse room one afternoon to learn a few things about Entrepreneurship, then I heard one of the CEOs talking about how Instagram and Facebook monitor your Clubhouse conversations and why you should unlink your Instagram account from your Clubhouse account. Now, while Instagram might not be monitoring your Clubhouse conversations, I would still advise that you unlink your Clubhouse account from Instagram.

How did I link my Clubhouse to Instagram in the first place?

You must have connected your Instagram account to Clubhouse when you recently joined Clubhouse and was linking your Clubhouse account to both Twitter and Instagram, remember? You would notice this when you check your Clubhouse profile.

Anyways, here is how to unlink your Clubhouse account from Instagram (Note: this will not affect your Instagram or Clubhouse account. Nothing will change. I assure you)

First, launch your Instagram app on your Android or iPhone
Go to your Profile, then click on the Menu icon on the top right-hand corner
Click on Settings
Click on Security
Click on Apps and Websites
Click on Active and remove Clubhouse: Drop-in audio chat

That’s all.

Some tips with Clubhouse, Pinterest, Youtube and Google My Business

It’s the start of a new year and I thought to share some tips that can help with your marketing and build loyalty as well. These tips and thoughts will help you and your business grow on the web. Let’s get started.

Clubhouse

There’s a new rave about a new social networking app called Clubhouse. It is an invitation-only audio-chat social media app that has caused quite a stir in the social media industry. Some say it might be the new LinkedIn, and to others, it is for vibes and networking just like every other social media app. The good news is that for businesses, it is another tool for efficient marketing.

What is Clubhouse?

Our friends at MobileMonkey wrote a detailed explanation of what Clubhouse is and how to use it for explosive growth here.

Clubhouse is not working with Mark’s (Facebook) algorithm. So, it is definitely better for visibility than Instagram and Facebook. Google is also indexing Clubhouse rooms right now, so if you want to be an authority in the space, now is the time to get recognized. Here’s a good example of how to get indexed on Clubhouse.  Let’s say you are a product design expert and you want to show up on Google’s homepage using clubhouse; Create a room on product design, collaborate with great people in the same niche and share free knowledge. Always make sure that the knowledge has the capacity to add value to people’s lives and watch your audience grow. Better still, Clubhouse allows users to put in their social media handles. Ensure to get them to follow you so you can grow your audience on other apps as well.

Pinterest

Pinterest is a visual search engine; although it is often viewed as a social network, it does not work like Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. Hence, you need to understand how this search engine works so that you can use it the right way. As a search engine, Google indexes Pinterest content faster than Instagram. So if you’re a visual creator; ie photography, fashion designer and co. Pinterest is better to sell your content than Instagram.

Google My Business

Google My Business allows you to appear on maps for your business. This is essential for small business especially. If you’re new on the block and you’d like some visibility for people around you, Google My Business is the best place to be. Just like the name implies, when people Google a keyword that is related to your product or service, yours would likely pop up with more details and directions to your business.

Keywords Analysis

SEO is the best way to organic growth for your business but it also takes time and consistency. Making sure that you have sufficient keyword “stuffing” is paramount. Let your important keywords be everywhere. It should be in your social media profiles, title tags, meta tags, descriptions. According to an Instagram expert, adding your keyword to your handle and your name boosts your chances of visibility by a 100%. If you are into fitness as a fitness coach, it is always important to add the word  “coach” to your handle and your name. This way, you’d appear on the results for anyone in need of a coach. SEO would help you appear on the radar for any keyword of your choice, build up authority and most importantly, boost your ranking on the search engine.

YouTube

Here’s a trick that works:
Utilize your YouTube analytics. When you make a post, go back to your analytics after some days and check where your users have scrolled back to watch; it shows in the analytics.
Use that particular content and build more content around it. This is called “repurposing content”. Post it on other social media platforms and check your analytics again. Don’t underestimate the value of using analytics.
