OPPORTUNITY COMES BUT ONCE is The Biggest Lie You’ve Been Told

0

Opportunity comes but Once is probably one of the Biggest and Most common Lies I have heard since I arrived in planet earth. I still hear people talk the crap till today.
This powerful lie had made people become desperate for Things they had no idea about. Especially Riches and fame. To be frank, you see these things called MONEY, FAME, BIG HOUSES, GOOD FOOD WITH DRINKS, these things are good, I even may like them even more than you do, (In Nigerian Igbo accent: who no likey better tin), but sooner or later these are things which desperate people begin to realise they have Little or No idea about. Such situations have led to backslides and irreversible mistakes that are far worse than loosing THE OPPORTUNITY if it was let go at the first place.
I’ll tell us a short story…..

There’s a guy who owned an amazing technology blog, One day he got a mail about SPONSORED POST OPPORTUNITY from a Casino Client, Casino and Gamble are Strictly Forbidden on his type of blog, this client knew the rules yet he agreed and wanted to pay as high as 250USD very tempting huh? Guess what… the blogger-Guy turned down the Proposal, coz he had set values on the kind of post he accepted. The cash was much, but could kill his reputation and all He had taken years to build with his Blog.

Let’s look at that huge money Offer he was about loosing again, 250USD (about 43,000 in Naira). But Nope, he didn’t worry, He didn’t loose it anyway, He kept His values, kept working and Had better opportunities after that one.
Yeah you heard me right, BETTER OPPORTUNITIES that were relevant came and He Accepted them, which pushed Bigger Cash into his Pocket.

This had taught me that Not every great saying that you hear, is true, even if it is popular, and has been said for a long time.
A lie repeated a thousand times, for a thousand years, will always be a lie.
This is another reason We need be careful about the Authenticity of Mentorship we receive, some of them are nothing but Lies and Half-Truths. Imaging chewing and swallowing a food like that, yuck!
No matter how old and experienced we already are, We are still like New born Babies, we can’t grow as healthy as possible if we’re Underfed by such Diet of information.

When it comes to Opportunities, if you know your Value, if you know What you can Do, and How you can do it… “Opportunity” won’t Come But Once,  you’ll create your doors and “Opportunities” will come to you…. in different Sizes!… many times.

Cheers to your success.
Till I come here again,

Career Women Series II: The Challenges And Myths Of Facing A Career

0

On a previous post here. we talked about Making a Career Woman and as promised, this is the second part of the series. You could leave your comments, suggestions and questions at the comment box or follow lolo (@Officiallolo1 or @Ogamadamoffice) on any of the popular social network plattforms.

It is no news that more than half of business people in Nigeria complain about the lack of electricity. It is not just a complain, it’s the truth but that should not stop a career woman from reaching her goals and inspiring others. This particular post will not talk about the challenges Nigerian women are facing. However, if you follow this post, you could share the challenges you’re facing with your business on the comment box below the post.

In this post, we would talk about what people could do to discourage you from starting up as a career woman. Do not take these kind of people serious, they could kill your career

1. You cannot do it: This is what has discouraged a lot of bright women over the years. Do not let anyone tell you that you cannot do a business because they can’t or don’t want to do it. People are not the same and you are not them. Seek positive advice and honest opinions from people you trust only.

2. You are too small: My dear, nobody is too small in this century anymore. A lot of young women are graduating from various schools and jobs, every day. Do not take it from anyone that you are small to chase your dreams or change your world. If you are listening to me or reading this, YOU ARE NOT TOO YOUNG OR SMALL.

3. Start with Millions of Money Or Start Big: The Igbo people have an adage that says: “It is only a grave that you dig from the top” and it is true. Whatever it is you want to do, start from somewhere, no matter how little. What is important is that you just have to start. You will learn a lot from there to better yourself

4. Start with a big shop/company: This is not true too. You could start from a smaller place that would sharpen your experience and help you walk your way up.

5. They will not patronize you: Have you ever heard someone saying something like that or something similar? Well, This is more like a curse and you should not take it from anyone. Most of all, don’t believe them, please.

6. Everyone is doing it: And so what? If it is something you love, go for it. You will come out successful than the other people that have been there.

Conclusion: You don’t have to let negativity cloak your dreams. Most of all, whatever it is you start, do it well and finish it. God will reward your efforts

This topic is not over, stay with us for more posts and updates on this topic. You could follow lolo @Officiallolo1 or @Ogamadamoffice and don’t forget to leave your comments below.

Career Women Series I: Making A Career Woman

A career woman is a woman who takes pride in her career, who chooses to work and often who is successful at her job. Every woman would love to be a career woman but not all of these “wannabes” end up successful, really. We can’t really pinpoint what went wrong on the way but usually, most individuals always has excuses ranging from all kinds of relationships with people or financial supports.

“This generation of young African women is the most ambitious yet. They are eager to build industries, reform societies, save lives, rewrite history, and transform the continent.”   — Forbes

Starting The Startup

There is a saying that “Anytime you seriously want to start is when you will start” and that is true. What is important is that you just have to get up and begin. You will come out successful, especially when it’s what you love doing.

1. Have An Idea: It might be something you’ve always wanted to do or something you feel people will need. It might even be something people do not know they need. The routine is not to create a business plan (it’s part of it though) but to have an idea of what you want to do or start. Do not frown at your ideas just because the world has not seen it, the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

2. Take A Step Further: Define Your Goals. Do you want to build and sell or just start up a small business. Create a working name and the kind of assistant you need, including the kind of workers you want.

3. Make A Decision: Ask your self if you’d like to manage the business alone or get a partner. If you’d like a partner, start with reliable person or the business might crumble before you know it.

4. Write A Business Plan: Write a Business plan! It is important.
“A business plan helps to define what you think you need to launch your business, large or small. It summarizes the sense of your business in a single document. It also creates a map for investors, bankers, and other interested parties to use when determining how they can best help you and to help them decide whether or not your business is viable. There are seriously good books available on writing business plans that cover many chapters, and you should avail yourself of at least one of these as a guide (bookshops, libraries and online are good places to find these)”

  • Describe the overall business concept, how it will be monetized, how much funding you will need, where it stands currently, including its legal standing, people involved and a brief history, and anything else that makes your business look like a winning proposition
  • Who will you be selling to, and how will you deliver your product? If you are a corporation, LLC (Limited Liability Company), or sole proprietor ship, state that, and why you chose to go that route. Describe your product, its big features, and why people will want it.
  • You must know your market if you are to be successful, so spend a great deal of time analyzing just who it is that will want your product, and how you plan on appealing to them to take cash out of their bank account and give it to you.
  • As you develop the above sections, you will learn who your key competitors are. Find out who is doing something similar to what you are planning, and how have they been successful. Just as important is to find the failures, and what made their venture fall apart.
  • Write your development plan. How will you create your product? Is it a service that you are offering, or if it’s more complex—software, a physical product like a toy or a toaster—whatever it is, how will it get built? Define the process, from sourcing raw materials to assembly to completion, packaging, warehousing, and shipping. Will you need additional people? Will there be unions involved? All of these things must be taken into account

After all the mentioned. You could set up who will lead, and who will follow. Define your organization, from the receptionist up to the CEO, and what part each plays in both function and financials. Knowing your organizational structure will better help you plan your operating costs, and fine-tune how much capital you will need to function effectively. Keep in mind that your business will continue to evolve and that this will be a rough idea of who is needed to keep things functioning; as the business grows, you’ll likely make changes to the hiring plans to fit what is happening at the time. Also, in a number of cases, the “staff” is you and whomever you can consult, such as your lawyer and accountant. This is fine, as long as you show that you’re prepared to pay for external advice and help until your business is ready to take on staff.

How To Manage Your Teens

0

A teenager, or teen, is a young person whose age falls within the range from thirteen through nineteen (13–19). They are called teenagers because their age number ends in “teen”. Being a teenager is something every adult has gone through, both male and female. It’s considered a very difficult stage in life because there are a lot of occurrences such as:

Mood swings
pressures
Lonliness
Depression
Character development
Sexual risk taking
Developing both healthy & unhealthy relationships
Eating or physical activity habits
Managing emotions
Violent relationships
Bullying
Academic stress
And they become quick to anger because they mostly feel you don’t understand them and how they feel.
Life Stories

“When my daughter turned 15, she started sitting in a corner of the house quietly and gets angry when you call her name” __ Mrs Johnson

“I didn’t understand my own daughter, she suddenly started frowning at little corrections and stopped talking with me'” __ Mrs Gbenga

Dealing With Your Teens
Dealing with teens can be challenging because. The brain of a teenager is a work in progress beacause Studies show that the frontal cortex of the brain does not completely develop until a person is well into their twenties, sometimes early thirties So, Therefore, it is necessary for parents understand and help children in those trying times.
1. Sit down and LISTEN to them whenever they are angry, instead of yelling or talking
2. Do not use false words and lies to make a teenager like you, tell them the truth, even when it hurts
3. If they share their feelings through texts or chat, reply them
4. Allow them to be independent if they want to be
5. Be happy to see them and express it. Don’t treat them with suspicion
6. At this crucial time in their lives, they’re looking for someone to understand what they’re going through. We all need understanding, but your teenager needs it a lot more than you can possibly imagine and he/she needs it to come from you… give them an undivided attention
7. Be confident, firm, and consistent. Do not negotiate with your child
8. Think about how you speak to your child and to others around you. How often are you sarcastic or rude? Is your child picking up on your tone and the way you treat others? Try to adjust your own behavior
9. Teenagers often feel they need to prove themselves. Don’t quarrel or argue with them
10. Constantly screaming at a child will damage their emotions and cause them to be insecure as adults. No one (including yourself), likes to be belittled
11. Open your home to their friends. If you don’t, they might start going out to hangout with the wrong people
Dealings could be very stubborn and if they do not get adequate care or respect. They’ll take you for granted or breakdown emotionally. If they do not want to change or if you can’t change them, seek professional help.

How To Move, Copy or Delete A Book On OkadaBooks’ App

0

This is one of the most wanted tutorial so far on OkadaBooks App because you would want to delete a book after reading it, especially the free books or the ones you just don’t want to read anymore

Before we begin, there are a few things you must know.

1. [Updated] How To Delete A Book On Okadabooks

2. You are allowed to move a book from it’s downloaded folder BUT when you move the book from it’s predefined download folder, you won’t be able to access (read) it anymore from the app (but it will be there as purchased) you’d have to redownload it. The app won’t access the moved file, even if you move it back to the folder you moved it from

Recommended: How To Install OkadaBooks’ App On Blackberry

3. If you copy a downloaded book to another phone, a laptop or share it, it won’t work (open) with other .epub* readers because books on OkadaBooks are encrypted (see image below)

In conclusion, Don’t move, copy or share a downloaded book from OkadaBooks. It won’t work. You can only delete a book. You can (but shouldn’t) copy or move a downloaded book, i already told you why.

Recommended: How To Fix “Data Unavailable” On OkadaBooks

Like i wrote in earlier on a tutorial, All the books you have downloaded could be found there and they are in .epub versions. Blackberry/Android apps rarely comes with .epub readers, I guess its why the app was built with an .epub reader and for now, you can’t delete a book straight from the app but later versions will fix most of these limitations, definitely.

Lastly, if you knowingly or mistakenly delete a book you already paid for, you won’t have to pay for it again, all you need to do is download it. Once you’ve paid for a book, it’s yours on the app, forever. Even when you login from another phone. All you have to do is redownload. You don’t have to pay again.

Loving Your Body In Pregnancy

0
If you enjoy parading your body around in bikini or you just love the flat belly button and your slim body. If you are obsessed with such things before pregnancy, it’d be difficult to let go and love your body as the stomach grows bigger. Normally, you should, but most women shut themselves indoor, employ maids and some would go as far as blaming their husbands for their size, weight and cessation of usual activities. You should love your body. Here are a few tips that work.

1. It’s all in the attitude. Take care of your body. Put on those sexy cloths, use a makeup if you have to and go shopping or get your workout outfits and hit the gym, they have a lot of exercises for pregnant women there
2. Smile, it attracts people. These people might help with so many tips and keep you company
3. Spend some time with your husband, discuss, chat and if possible, jokingly argue about the baby’s name.
4. Take extra time with things you love doing alone, like brushing and fixing your hair.
5. Take a walk with your husband or a friend in the evenings. It’s another form of exercise and you could get to feed your eyes with happenings you’ve missed.
6. The Internet is your friend. Chat, learn to cook or fashion and most of all, watch a lot of Comedy on YouTube, If you don’t have internet… listen to Ogamadam office on wazobia fm 10am to 3pm (weekdays)
7. If you watch your weight a lot before pregnancy, do not stay in front of the mirror too long when you’re pregnant – you could feel bad
8. Understand that at some point, Anxiety might attack you, you might get scared or annoyed at the presence of your husband’s manhood or you might fear that you and your baby might not bond or the child might not like you. Anxiety at some point, for some women is normal during pregnancy is normal. If you understand this, you could deal with it.
9. Draw your good friends closer
10. You could try out some new safe things but stay away from alcohol
Things You Should Not Do During Pregnancy
We are still on the topic. Here are a few things that would not make you happy during pregnancy.
1. Negative thoughts. Some women (especially those with irresponsible husbands) wish the baby would hate the father. Some even go as far as wishing the baby would die
2. Do not worry about what the baby would grow up to become. He would not be a cheater because his/her father cheated on you
3. Do not lock yourself up because you’re pregnant
4. Do not worry about issues or negative traits with your descendants or lineage.
5. Do not keep worrisome thoughts to yourself. It’s dangerous
Making and having a baby is really wonderful, you could tell when you have a new born baby in your arms. Along the way, while carrying the child, you just have to do what makes you happy and remember that you’re not alone. You have someone else inside of you and you would deliver safely

How To Fix “Data Unavailable” On OkadaBooks App

0
Whenever i tried to login to the app, it says “Data Unavailable.” My password was correct and my email was not dead. It didn’t even pop up “Dude, are you sheeting me, that is the wrong password.”
it just kept on popping up “Data Unavailable.” Where did the data go?
This just happened to me and i almost drowned my phone because i have some books i’m reading on Okadabooks… And i haven’t finished them. And i don’t want to start again. And i don’t want to buy the book again because i bought them before.

When you’ve got your phone stuffed up with files, folders and games, your phone runs slow due to some cache, history, cookies, saved data and probably some constantly multiplying virus in the phone. While some people use cache cleaners and antiviruses others prefer deleting some suspected apps, files or books (sounds funny but its true)
This tutorial will teach you how to not suspect OkadaBooks for your loss or delete some precious videos because your OkadaBooks App pops up “Data Unavailable” when you’re about to login.
weather blackberry or Android, it is not the app’s fault and i’ll share some tips on how to fix it… for life.
Step 1: Restart your phone, make sure your connection is okay (not that poor network service in our room) and try again
Step 2: Don’t call your mum, dad or 911
Step 3: Free some space in your phone’s memory drive (card or storage) you could also consider removing or moving some files in the phone’s memory. (This is what happened to mine… Too many movies in the phone, they were even boring!) you could move those your large-sized downloaded files to a desktop, laptop, legtop or a friend’s phone. He’d be glad.
Step 4: Turn off your phone
Step 5: Did you turn it off?
Step 6: Turn it back on
It should work now. I freed 1.5 gb from my 8gb memory card and i think i still have 1gb free on my 4gb phone’s memory. If problem persists, check if your antivirus is not keeping the app hostage in its “blocked apps” or quarantine folder… wait, problems can’t persist….and you could still drown the phone and buy a new Android or Blackberry that runs Android apps.

OMG: Author Ibitola Ojoye Shares Acceptance For Free On OkadaBooks To Mark The New Year

0

Hmmm, (In Obama’s voice: It is no fiction or doubt in our modernized, fragile and violent world that …*pauses*…. an Author could touch lives.) She is not just an “Author.” As a matter of fact, she is a successful London based author that knows what she is doing. Yup, the numerous shows, interviews and book signings she’s been about after the release of Acceptance: Into Darkness is speaking it all…. and still spoking. lol

The first time those awesome books reached OkadaBooks, they were worth the price of #350 or #500 or there about, anyways, it doesn’t matter anymore because…. I’m about to tell you the books are FREE on Okadabooks right now………. Wait, i just told you the books are FREE on Okadabooks. If i were you, i would download the OkadaBooks App On Android or on Blackberry and purchase both books before the festive season wears off and she raises the book’s price to 1k… lol.

It’s because she met black santa and he told her that the blue santa had bought her books for Santa clause to give to OkadaBooks users (Does that make sense? no!, it does.)
I will not speak for her but according to her, “…To mark us walking into this new year of 2015” Awww, she has a good heart. For me, It’s because she knows Amazon will not allow us pay for the books in Naira… (**sobs, give that woman a Medal).
So folks, Simply get the OkadaBooks App and search for “Acceptance,” buy it and make sure you download it so you don’t come back here for another free option when the prices return. +Ibitola Ojoye-Adebayo +Ibitola Adebayo Thank you!

How To Install OkadaBooks’ App From Amazon’s Appstore In 5 Minutes

0

A few hours ago, OkadaBooks landed on Amazon’s Appstore. I already have a post on that here. As promised, i’ll share the steps i took to install the app on my Blackberry and a friend’s Android device. It works for both, same process as long as your Blackberry has an Os 10 operating system; it runs 98% of All Android Apps (Blackberry products from last year.)

While on my research, i figured there are a number of ways to install this app. However, those ways are time and data consuming and to avoid that, i’d show you the easiest way you could do it all in one phone… in 5 minutes.
Installing Amazon Appstore
Note: If you already have Appstore in your phone, skip these installation steps
Step 1: Simply click here to Download Amazon Appstore (or just Google it) It is free. Install the app after downloading it
Step 2: Open the newly installed app and sign in with your amazon account. if you don’t have an Amazon Account, simply select “sign up” and fill in your details. (See screenshots below)

Installing OkadaBooks
Step 3: After you’ve successfully logged in with your new or existing account, tap the search button at the top-right-hand side and search for OkadaBooks (It is the only app you will see with the name.) See Screenshots below
Step 4: Click and Download it by tapping the FREE button at the right-hand-side (see image above). Here is the “frowny” part, it will pop up a page and ask you to fill your “Address Details,” do not panic or close the app (It’s an Amazon “thing”) you won’t be charged a dime. just fill it… See screenshots below
Step 5: Click Finish (see image Above) and Download your OkadaBooks App. (see image below). When you’re done, you could either open it or share the app with friends or do both (See sharing methods in last image)

Yup, easy. It should take 5 minutes to set up and if you have the Appstore App already in your device, then it should take less than 2 minutes. The Appstore works like your Google Playstore app on Android and there are other apps there too. This is the easiest and time saving method…. 5 minutes…. or less
