OkadaBooks Is Now On Amazon’s Appstore For Free

0
Credits: OkadaBooks/Amazon page
yes, the android app is now on Amazon’s Appstore. This is a brilliant move by the developers and I’ll tell you why. I recently did a tutorial on How to install Okadabooks on Blackberry In 5 Minutes, on that tutorial, you’d notice you can’t actually use the Android playstore App on your blackberry, even if it runs an Android Operating system. In fact, that is why most Android-enabled Blackberry users never thought it could work.
Now you don’t need to worry about it because the same app on Google Playstore is what is now on Amazon’s Appstore. So users with difficulties accessing the playstore can get it from Appstore, regardless the device, as long as it runs Android Os, the Okada will start in your phone. Brilliant? I said that too. You could check out the page here
In my next post, i’d be showing you how to download and install the OkadaBooks app from the Appstore.

Women And Impulse Buying

0

If Impulse buying was a sin, everyone would have committed it. The funny thing about this topic is that most individuals do not know about it, even while partaking in it. That is why we are sharing this topic. In fact, You will be shocked at the end of the day.

Impulse buying is an unplanned, spontaneous and intense urge to buy a product when you didn’t really budget or plan to buy it. It occurs when a consumer experiences a sudden, often powerful and persistent urge to buy something immediately. These purchasers regret the purchase after purchasing the product. Most people blame the cause of impulse buying (purchasing) on fun, fantasy and social pleasure. A final definition for it is the purchasing of a product that caught your eye (or you think you needed) without being forced. It is called impulse buying because it happens as a result of a sudden impulse.
Causes Of Impulse Buying
There is a belief that Women are materialistic shopaholics but it’s not true. A research archive on Indian Express has confirmed that Men spend more on impulse buys. That is, they buy things they don’t need (Every man should know why he buys things he doesn’t need)… Hmmm, that should be when they buy things for women. Now, back to the causes for women!
A Research according to Wikipedia suggests that emotions and feelings play a decisive role in purchasing, triggered by seeing the product or upon exposure to a well crafted promotional message. There are more causes below
1. Shopping Addiction: Pardon the title but some women don’t leave a shopping mall unless their cart is full; even when their cart is full, they still want to buy more products that they did not plan to buy. This is a perfect example of impulse buying. They tend to fall in love with all the product in the market. Do not take someone with this habit, he/she might put you in trouble or you’ll end up not buying a thing for yourself.
2. Discounts: Yes, discounts come with a well crafted promotional message. It’s difficult to look past an advert that says “Buy 1 and get 2 free,” or similar tempting offers. Usually, most vendors do this to attract more customers and it works. Who wouldn’t want to buy a product for a cheaper amount of money.
3. Promoting A Friend: If your friend is selling a product and you want to promote her products or help her make sales, you end up buying products you don’t need just because she is a friend. This is not bad but you end up feeling bad because you spent your money on a product you might never use. This is one of the most avoidable means of impulse buying but most people fall for it even when they don’t want the product at all.
4. Adverts and All that Glitters…: When you fall for a NEW product you have never used because of it’s packaging or the way it’s being advertised, you end up getting it. A few times you’ll realize the product is not worth it. We’ve all had similar experiences on this one.
5. Recommendations and Ethics: Nigerians (Igbo’s especially) are synonymous with this method. They could lure you with sweet mouths to make you LOVE a product. They will attribute all sorts of names and functions to a product for you to get it, just because they want to make sales. This method is more like a teacher, once it happens, you won’t fall for it again. Unless you didn’t learn your lesson. Mind you, you are not being forced to purchase it, that’s why it’s called impulse buying.
5 Ways To Curb Or Prevent Impulse Spending (buying)
1. Carry Cash: Watching your cash disappear, forces you to confront and restrain your spending
2. Make Shopping Lists And Stick To Them
3. Say “No” to offers you didn’t budget for. If you can’t, simply tell the seller/advertiser that you’d check it out on your next visit, you just might then.
4. Look at a product, but do not touch it. You might be compelled to get it or someone would walk up to you for a positive review because you touched it
5. Be contented with the ones you’ve purchased for the day. The market/mall will not die.
Superstitious Ways To Curb Impulse Spending
These are ways/method we often hear that could help us control impulse spending
1. Frown at advertisers in the markets/malls
2. Ignore and offers or push them away
3. Do not use your money: Some so called friends will advise you not to withdraw money. They would ask you to borrow, so that when you’re overspending, you’ll remember you borrowed the money. It doesn’t work o
4. Do not carry money, cards or your wallet around
5. And while some people will ask you to go shopping alone, others will ask you to take someone that would remind you when you’re making too many purchases. It’s possible but you would buy for whoever you went with… won’t you?
There you have it. Again, Impulse buying (purchase) is an unplanned, spontaneous and intense urge to buy a product when you didn’t really budget or plan to buy it, either ways, no one forces you to buy the product(s).

How To Install OkadaBooks’ App On Blackberry In 5 Minutes

5
OkadaBooks .Apk For Blackberry
If your Blackberry Phone runs Android Apps, Simply Download this .apk version i uploaded here, V.2.2.3 (12/7/2014) and Install it in your blackberry. It works very well. Infact, you could skip the tutorials in this page. You wouldn’t need it.
But it’s advised you go through the page if you’re not sure your Blackberry runs Android Apps and to extend your knowledge about this app.
You could read the rest of the post below for more info. with screenshots 🙂
My Teacher Mums and Big gurls can now read books on their Blackberry, anywhere, anytime, any day, anyway, anyone!… LOL

OkadaBooks is one of the most, The most fantastic platform for both writers and readers of this decade, maybe century. It could be accessed anywhere because you could use a phone in the toilet too (chuckles). Yup, you know i’m crazy about books and gadgets and this platform has wedded the two… (coughs)

I was going to join the bike with four books but my editor was preparing for her service and OkadaBooks only works worked on Android. Okay, maybe the former was an excuse. The books are at the shores of “The End” and they need thorough revision and editing.
You know, I wasn’t always a blackberry fan until my boss handed me a Q5 which i considered useless at first (i hope she doesn’t read this) until i realized it could run Android apps. yahhhh!!!. Check this out… According to Wikipedia:

“In March 2011, RIM announced an optional Android player that could play applications developed for the android system would be available for the BlackBerry PlayBook, RIM’s first entry in the tablet market. On August 24, 2011 Bloomberg News reported unofficial rumors that BlackBerry devices would be able to run Android applications when RIM brings QNX and the Android App Player to BlackBerry.
On October 20, 2011 RIM officially announced that Android applications could run, unmodified, on the BlackBerry tablet and the newest BlackBerry phones, using the newest version of its operating system.”

With that info, i’m glad to announce that the new Blackberry smartphones are now smarter. I still have access to Blackberry Appworld and .apk files from my previous “Nameless, Cheap” Android (hehehe). Blackberry phones with the latest Models (BlackBerry 10 devices) from BlackBerry Q5 (2013) to the New +BlackBerry passport (2014) runs most +Android apps and one of these Apps is +Okada Books. Lets get to the tutorial, i’ve said much already.

Resources Required
1. Data Bundle (Mb) – Not less than 12mb
        2. App Backup & Restore (From the Playstore
or google “App Backup & Restore.apk” )
                       3. An Android Phone (Preferably with Os 4.0 and Above).
Don’t worry, It’s just for the Downloads. Borrow from a
neighbour who doesn’t hate Blackberry users…LOL

How To Get The OkadaBooks App
Simply visit Playstore with the Android Phone and Download OkadaBooks (Use the search to find it Faster, it’s the only App with the name “Okadabooks: Free Books To Read.”) Download and Install it in the Android.
Then, use the search too to find “App Backup & Restore.” It’s a productivity app by INFOLIFE LLC. Install it too. The size is about 3.5mb. Once you’ve installed OkadaBooks and App Backup & Restore, close the Playstore. you won’t be needing it again.

How To Send The OkadaBooks App To Your BlackBerry
This part is even simpler. Open the newly downloaded “App Backup & Restore” in the Android phone. It will show all your apps. See the screenshot below.
Simply select the OkadaBooks app by ticking the box (see Step 1 in the screenshot Above) and select “Send.” You’ll see a pop-up immediately with two options (see screenshot below).
It’s advisable to send by other apps because all the File Sharing apps in your phone will pop up when it’s selected. If it does, select “Bluetooth.” and send it to the Blackberry Phone.

Note: Make sure the bluetooth of the blackberry is turned on and “Discoverable” is turned on too.

When you receive the app in your blackberry, it should be saved in the “Downloads” folder. Install it. That’s all.

Recommended Post: 5 Qualities To Look Out For Before Choosing A Template For Your Book/Story Blog

I’ll share the rest of the process through screenshots. The processes you read above should take 5 minutes or less.

When I logged in

The Search is working properly

You could refill your account like Android
All the payment options are still here

Including this payment option
I got a book.
I got this one too
And i downloaded it too
Reading Your Downloaded Books
The last screenshot above is a “download in progress shot.” Now, when you have downloaded the book, you could read it from the “My Books” section with your internet connection turned off. This is possible because the app has been built for easy data optimization, obviously.
You don’t really have to read it online. It could be read offline because your downloaded book is in your phone, but you can’t find it easily because it’s deep within the phone to avoid deletion from your enemies…LOL. And other illegal purposes that could be punishable by the law.
However, To locate the book in your phone, follow these folders
[Device/misc/android/Android/data/com.okadabooks/files/books] All the books you have downloaded could be found here and they are in .epub version. Blackberry/Android apps rarely comes with .epub readers, I guess its why the app was built with an .epub reader. Smart huhn?
Another wonderful thing about the app is that it has an “auto read out loud” function. While reading a book, you could tap the small speaker at the extreme top-right-hand-side to switch from the default visual mode to audio-visual mode. In this mode, a Female voice could read the entire ebook to you. The voice is a bit slow but with this mode, you could learn to pronounce some really difficult words. Isn’t it Awesome? (See the screenshot below)
Visual Mode
Audio visual Mode
Conclusion: It’s working just like the Android version. Now to test the Okadabooks’ App on your Blackberry (skipping those Android processes), you could download this .apk version i uploaded here, V.2.2.3 (12/7/2014) Mind you, it’s advisable to download a new version from the Android Playstore every month (at least) because there might be new updates. Read, Ride, Share!

Christmas Chicken?: Diseases Caused By Chicken

0

Maybe it’s not chicken alone, maybe i’m talking about all kinds of meat but you’d probably start swearing if i ask you not to eat any meat on Christmas. And some people hate fish “because of what they do in water”— It’s a quote. hehehe
Both loved for it’s meat and eggs, Chickens can be quite “irresistible” on a norm but due to the various pathogenic organisms they carry, they can be a source of a number of bacterial and viral-related diseases and infections. Here are some below

1. Avian Flu
Chickens and other fowl are known to be carriers of this virus, showing no symptoms of illness while infected with the viral strain. The avian flu virus can be transported via the air as well as in chicken feces. Symptoms of this illness in people include high fever, coughing, aching muscles, and both vomiting and diarrhea.

2. Campylobacteriosis
Like other chicken-related infections, this bacterium can cause abdominal pain and diarrhea. It also can lead to Guillain-Barre syndrome, a disease that could result in paralysis. Campylobacter is another pathogenic bacterium that can be transferred to humans by eating infected chicken meat. This microorganism is one of the most common sources of food-related poisoning in people. Still want to eat any chicken, How about…

3. Salmonellosis
Salmonella poisoning, or salmonellosis, is probably the most common bacterial affliction that humans can attribute to chickens. The infection is passed by eating chicken meat or eggs that have been contaminated with this bacterium. Salmonellosis is characterized by high fever, abdominal cramping and diarrhea, and it is especially dangerous when it affects young children, the elderly or people with compromised immune systems.

How To Break Up With A Man The Right Way

0

Okay, Take your time with him at night and on the next morning, bake him a cake with a large “waving” hand sign on it and drop it on the table before he wakes up… or, you could just order the cake if you don’t want to get your hands messy… kapish? LOL. That was a joke, don’t mind me. He’d probably invite his friends over, thinking it’s a party.

Usually it’s difficult to break up with a man you’ve
shared some times and things with; things you’d probably not share with anyone. But sometimes it just has to happen due to one reason or another. Here’s how to let go or making him let you go.
1. Find some time to do it in  private. Do not make a scene or make it look like “the epic break up of the century.” If you do, it might hunt and hurt you more than him.
2. Do not do it online
3. Do not bring up excuses.
4. Do not make him feel like he’s not worth a thing or out of your league
5. Do not build up long stories. Go straight and do tell him he’s sweet.
6. If he’s a bully or ill tempered person, do not engage him. Just let him spill out his words… then leave.
7. After all is said and done, go out to the movies with a friend or something. Do not stay indoor and if possible, don’t think about it.

Sex During Pregnancy

0

You must have heard that couples have sex during pregnancy and it’s for the same reasons why people have sex they do it, except that this time, the woman is pregnant.

A lot Women worry about a lot of things when a pregnancy shows up. Their worries are mostly: Is it safe to have sex while I’m pregnant?, Will sex feel different now that I’m pregnant?, Will my partner’s sex drive change? will he run away if i refuse? Which positions tend to be the most comfortable? and all other similar questions arise. Well, of all these questions, is it possible to have sex during pregnancy?

Yes. If you’ve had a healthy pregnancy, there’s no reason why you and your partner can’t have sex. The thick mucus plug that seals your cervix helps to guard your baby against infection. Tell your partner not to freak out or simply refuse with some excuses. As long as nothing is wrong with you, you can have sex during pregnancy

Your partner’s penis won’t damage your baby in any way while you’re having sex. You may find out your baby moves around a bit after you’ve had an orgasm. It’s nothing to worry about. Your baby’s reacting to the pounding of your heart. He doesn’t know what’s happening or feel any discomfort. You won’t hurt the baby by making love. You may have heard that having sex can bring on labor before your baby is ready to be born. This is not true, as long as you have had a straightforward pregnancy. If your body is not ready to go into labor, having sex will not cause you to have a premature birth. In fact, it seems that if you have regular sex during pregnancy you may be less likely to give birth prematurely! — Babycenter

Occurences And Facts About Sex In Pregnancy

These are happenings during a woman’s pregnancy, according to research.

1. Some men are restless regarding sex during pregnancy. Some men may find nothing sexier than a pregnant woman, but other men may be too afraid of hurting the baby or their pregnant partner to enjoy sex.

2. Sexual desire and frequency of sexual relations decrease. Many women find that their sexual appetite fluctuates, perhaps depending on how they’re otherwise feeling physically and emotionally.
You may feel too tired, moody, or nauseated to make love, especially in the first trimester (A period of three months in one of the three three-month periods into which human pregnancy is divided)

3. Your breasts may feel tingly, tender, and unusually sensitive to touch, particularly in the first trimester. The tenderness generally subsides, but your breasts may remain more sensitive. Some women will find this heightened sensitivity to be a turn-on, while others won’t (and may even prefer that their breasts not be touched at all)

4. Sex during pregnancy is a low-risk behaviour except when the physician advises that sexual intercourse be avoided, because it may, in some pregnancies, lead to serious pregnancy complications or health issues such as a high-risk for premature labour or a ruptured uterus.BUT Such a decision may be based upon a history of difficulties in a previous childbirth…if there was any.

5. Sexual activity has also been suggested as a way to prepare for induced labour, although, it is uncertain.

6. A significant number of women report greater sexual satisfaction throughout their pregnancies. Many women report that sex feels different during pregnancy. Some find it more pleasurable, at least at times. Others may generally find it less so, for part or all of the pregnancy

7. Some psychological research studies in the 1980s and 1990s contend that it is useful for pregnant women to continue to have sexual activity, specifically noting that overall sexual satisfaction was correlated with feeling happy about being pregnant, feeling more attractive in late pregnancy than before pregnancy and experiencing orgasm

Precautions

Let your partner know how you feel and reassure him that you still love him. It’s crucial to keep the lines of communication open and to support each other as best you can as you go through these changes together.

If you’ve had any bleeding or spotting in early pregnancy, your doctor may advise you not to have sex until you reach 14 weeks. Your doctor may say it’s best not to have sex for the rest of your pregnancy if you have had:
heavy bleeding
a history of cervical weakness
a low-lying placenta (placenta praevia)
a vaginal infection

And find out if it’s safe to use sex toys.

Conclusion: Have fun, listen to your body, and be open with your partner.
Sex during pregnancy depends on the woman. if you feel great or in the mood, do it.

If the dad-to-be is nervous about having sex with his increasingly pregnant partner, “we tell them that their baby is well protected. It is an egg surrounded by a pillow and another pillow and that there is no way they will hurt the baby, and that usually makes them feel much better, – ”Dayna Salasche, MD, an obstetrician at Northwestern Specialists for Women, in Chicago

5 Easy Steps To Care For Your Underarms (Armpit)

0

Most underarms have taken a lot of abuse, especially in women. A man could even keep his distance from a woman due to the smell of it. Hairs could be tolerated anywhere around the body but not your armpits. Here’s five simple steps to work it clean…. and smooth

Shave: This might sound really weird (if you shave) but most people love to keep hairs under their pit. If its grown, cut it, cut the price or else.., it might embarrass you someday too. And always shave in the shower so the hot water and shaving cream can soften the hair. If you don’t shave regularly, the pit could be irritating and
discomforting. It could even give you sleepless nights, especially when you don’t bath before going to bed.

Use a fresh blade: Blunt razors are dangerous and they tend to cause you spend a lot of time shaving. Sometimes these blunt razors make you exert more pressure on the armpit and this could scrap your skin. Change your blade every few weeks or when you notice a change on the razor. Hairs grow in different directions, approach them from all angles and know when to stop shaving. Also, to remove the dark patches from your armpit use a good quality razor, if you have dark patches.

Wash!: When we talk about body odor and hygiene, most women often point fingers at men and these men point theirs at a particular tribe or ethnicity. Be it true or not, a woman is supposed to bath twice a day and wash the armpit while she’s bathing.

No spray, no rub: Sometimes, you just have to wash and keep it dry. This is often common when you’re home. No sweats

Waxing: Firstly, to remove the dark patches from your armpit use a good quality razor and women should prefer waxing than shaving to get rid of the unwanted hair. Waxing is a better alternative than shaving because it removes the unwanted hair from the root and the hair growth takes more time too. However, women who cannot withstand the pain of waxing can choose a razor having moisturizing lining. Make sure to apply moisturizer after shaving to avoid drying of the armpit due to dehydration.

For a woman, it’s really not cool to leave hairs in your pit, no matter the tribe or culture, complications will still arise if you don’t shave often.
