Okay, earlier today i shared some Tips To Sell Your Books On Okadabooks.com then i got this email from Steven (not his real name) asking how he could upload his manuscripts on Okadabooks. Here it is…
With it’s New UI and features the Okadabooks app has really improved over the last few rides, yup, the new version of the book reading app is so sophisticated it could save your phone from drowning but can’t save it from damaging in water. How? well if you’re running the new app, you wouldn’t let your phone fall into water (to drown) in the first place.

“The reasons I write these testimonies are because one of the greatest witnessing tools we have available to us is the testimony of a changed life. Whatever you want is usually easier to get than you think, as long as you are willing to adapt and do what is necessary.
With me I found myself on a journey that I had never intended to travel. A journey to find myself. This was when I began to write. My heart was burdened, and I wrote to get what was in me out. I started writing because if I didn’t, I would explode.
On this journey I realized I truly love spinning together stories. I can go places, do things, and be a part of adventures and lives in ways that just aren’t possible in my real life.
The pay off in my writing career hasn’t been in fame. Rather it’s come in the form of hearing from readers and knowing they’re enjoying my stories. Each email, Facebook comment, or tweet warms my heart.”
A programmer friend of mine was called for a web designing job in Lagos, on getting there, the staffs of the company where in a meeting and he was required in the same meeting for some reasons known to them. He walked in and the Oga (boss) of the company yelled “Are you here for the interview? Why are you dressed like you came to see your friend?” He had said it with so much hatred in his face but my loyal but pissed off helpless friend didn’t reply him. He stood and watched the rude oga babble “…look at the way you’re dressed.”
What was the Oga putting on? Black suit. My friend? He was wearing a CLEAN (intentionally capitalized) T shirt, black trousers and shoes. Was he there to take up a permanent job? Not really. They needed a web designer, that’s all.
While i was narrating this to another guy, he explained: “There are so many awesome things they don’t teach you in a computer science class that undergraduates are learning online but when they go for interviews, they’d have to tender certificates or else, no job.”
The entire occurrence got me wondering: This smart guy was treated like this (obviously because he’s not in a black suit with a 6 inch tie around his 22 year old neck) and most of these guys who learnt outside the “Nigerian” school are insulted asked for papers… Who is a Nigerian Geek?
For men, it’s typically about the sex—the more sexually excitable they are, the more likely they are to cheat. For women, it’s more about the level of satisfaction in her relationship; if a woman is unhappy in her marriage, she’s 2.6 times more likely to cheat – Womansday.com
According to 2012 statistics from the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, 14% of married women have cheated compared to 22% of married men. Although women are not exceeding men in cheating, women are having emotional affairs and sex behind their man’s back. However, when a woman cheats, she is usually cheating for emotional intimacy while a man usually cheats for physical pleasure.
The Amazon appstore and Instagram are not the only apps getting an update this month. Okadabooks app has a new update – 3.0.
Like any other app with an update, there’s always something new in the Application or it’s component.
In this new update, you would find:
– Improved UI
– New Startup Image
– Implemented design for tablets
– Fixed bugs and issues
– Optimized push notification for android 5.0+
– Changed login functionality to use username
– Fixed books ordering in “My Books” screen.
It also works with my neighbour’s old Android Device and on my blackberry Q5.
The new update also had something i’d like to call a pain killer – App reset option in it’s Menu.
I call it a pain killer because with the App Reset function you could fix minor errors and download issues.
Once you notice an unusual error like books not downloading, data unavailable pop ups, inability to log in, crashing and/or other things your phone could cause the app to do, simple tap the “Reset App” beneath the “Sign in or Sign out” option in the app’s Menu. The app reset function also works when you’re not signed in.
Note: The App reset deletes the books you’re reading (you can simply redownload them from “My Books” for free), clears your cache and your preferences. The App reset function technically formats the app without touching the books you bought.
