Wireframes: What If we had Uber, Bolt and other discount codes in one App?

0

Sketching wireframes have been the best way to communicate graphical interfaces with everyone I work with. I started sketching at Google UX Masterclass in 2017. Then I dropped it for a while until I had to take it on full time during my Product Management class.

I really love it. It’s something I enjoy doing. But it’s ultimately not about the delight. It’s more about what you are wireframing and how it would make a product and its user experience better.

Here are some ideas and pages I wireframed a while back. I will not be working on these ideas, instead, I will be contributing the source files to any wireframing community/repository I find. Feel free to reuse them or work on the ideas.

Cheers

Tumblr has a saying that “Tumblr is so easy to use that it’s hard to explain.” – I stole that quote and I keep it in mind when I sketch an Idea. It should be simple for the next user trying to do something with your product.

What do I design with?
I started off on paper but I use Balsamiq now. I like Balsamiq and most teachers that I learnt from using it.

Where do I get inspiration?

From past works and products I use, mostly. You’ll find them all in this book.
I also like to leave everything in black and white. I don’t like using colours. I want to leave room for the UI designers to make their own rules. You know, choose colours and whatnot.

Update: You can now sign up on the website by clicking here.

You Should Read This If You Use PiggyVest

0

If you have been reading my blog before now you would know that I am a big fan of PiggyBankNG. They are my go-to platform for controlling how much I spend and save. I have been using PiggyVest for 2 years and the experience has been great.

I discovered something awhile back. Something that might be affecting you or might affect you in the future.

If you save daily with PiggyBank’s Autosave then your bank will charge you for SMS alerts each time your money is saved with PiggyVest. The funny thing is, you might not be notified by your bank immediately but you will get an SMS alert later in the week or month notifying you that a particular amount has been saved or transferred from your bank account to your PiggyVest account. Your bank will charge you for each of these SMS alerts at the end of the month or at some point. Imagine autosaving daily… Imagine how much SMS alert cost that will be accumulated in a month.

I couldn’t shake this off so I reached out to PiggyBank on Instagram: ‘If a user on your platform is saving every day, he/she would get a Debit alert from their bank, right. Will the banks not charge for these daily debit alerts at the end of the month? Because from my experience, bank debits customers in the name of “SMS charges”
Does piggyBank have a partnership with banks not to charge for debit alerts?’

Their response was “No, We don’t.”

So If you’re planning to save or saving with PiggyVest then save weekly or monthly or turn off SMS alerts from your bank. Else, your bank will charge you for the daily SMS alerts caused by PiggyVest transfers. Again, I love PiggyVest and I have recommended the platform so many times on my previous posts and here as well but I thought you should know about this because It doesn’t make sense to lose money while trying to save money.

These Platforms Let You Collect Loans With Your Phone Number

3

Sometimes friends don’t come through and we don’t have a choice. So here are two platforms (and more) that let you collect loans with just your phone number.

This post was inspired by Paylater because they did not lend me money when I was stranded in the middle of nowhere – even after going through all their registration wahala. They need to setup USSD for those without Internet access to be able to collect loans.

Anyways,

Let us begin:

  1. Kwickcash NG (Now Migo.money): Migo.money loans you money in a minute with the help of their USSD codes (*554*561# or *561# for 9mobile). You can also collect loans on their website migo.money with your phone number. They give as much as N15,000 the first time and let you pay back (with 5 to 15% interest rates) between 14-30 days, that’s 2 weeks to a month. According to them, the more you loan from them and payback, the more their system trusts you and offers higher amounts.
  2. Fairmoney: Fairmoney is actually no different from Kwickcash in a lot of ways. They have an app on Google Playstore and they let you pay back within 15 to 30 days.
  3. More: I can only mention apps I’ve used. Fortunately, Aurora Maikudi has a post on 14 platforms that offer quick loans in Nigeria. You can check it out by clicking here.

Additional Notes

  • Don’t collect loans if you won’t payback. It looks really easy to collect loans from these platforms, but don’t do it if you won’t payback.
  • I don’t know much about kwickcash and Fairmoney’s business loans. You should contact them/ask questions before taking a business loan.
  • Don’t forget to check out my other posts about platforms to make money from.

I’m really curious to know the platforms that have given you a loan so please share them in the comment box below. Also, let me know if you have questions about any of the platforms I’ve mentioned in this post. Would be Awesome.

A Major Reason to use ALAT by Wema

I’m beginning to like ALAT by Wema…

This is not a sponsored post

For some months now I’ve been struggling with my Google Drive account – Upgrading it from the basic 15GB plan to 100GB (or other higher sizes) has not been easy working. I have tried two GTB cards that are international transactions enabled and a FirstBank card I’ve owned since like forever. I have fasted, prayed and wished it’d just stop telling me to try other cards. Then I looked up ways to upgrade my Google Drive account from Nigeria – hacky, stressful and almost fraudulent. I gave up.

I gave up until I had 14GB/15GB left and a red warning/notification at the top of my Gmail account. So I decided to try again with the ALAT card I recently received from, well, ALAT. I didn’t want to use the card at first, maybe because I didn’t work so hard to get it.

I had registered on alat.ng for free, requested a card and they had it delivered to me a few days later… for free. I was suspicious. So I kept the card for about two months until I lost My Firstbank and GTB cards… long story

Long story short, I recently transferred N1000 to the ALAT card (I was testing it), recharged my MTN line with it then tried Upgrading my Google Drive account with it. It worked!

I will show you how I activated the card for international payments in the screenshot below:

Now, my Google account has been upgraded:
