In 2020, some countries are still unable to carry out international transactions with their bank cards. If your country is one of these countries then you have come to the right place. In this post, we will be looking at some platforms that let you generate virtual dollar cards for international transactions.
Barter
Barter is one of the most popular platforms that allows you to generate dollar cards. One of the really cool things about Barter is that it generates a specific card for your needs. So, you can specifically generate a dollar card for your Netflix account or one for your Facebook Ads or Spotify account. You get the drift. I wrote about Barter awhile back. You can download the Barter app by clicking here.
Bitsika
Bitsika makes it easy for you to send and receive money from African countries. With your Bitsika wallet, you can: Receive and transfer funds from your wallet to other Bitsika wallets, deposit and payout Cedis using MTN mobile money, AirtelTigo cash and Vodafone cash, deposit and payout Naira using a debit card or bank transfer, Create a virtual Visa card for online shopping, buy and send airtime for all major networks in Ghana and Nigeria, send money between Ghana and Nigeria, buy and sell Bitcoin, BUSD (dollar stable-coin) and ABCD stable-coin using your Bitsika wallet. You can install Bitsika on your phone by clicking here.
Wallets Africa
Wallets Africa used to be Wallets.ng. They grew and now let you create Dollar cards within the app or on the Website. Click here to learn more and get Started.
ALAT
ALAT is Wema bank’s digital bank. You can open an account from home and have a physical ATM card delivered to you for free. Then you can activate the card for International and POS payments. I use my ALAT card for Facebook Ads and Google Drive Payments and it works fine. Here is a step by step guide on how to obtain and setup your ALAT card.
Eyowo
Eyowo is similar to Barter and Wallets Africa. You can use it to make payments, pay bills and receive money with your phone number. They also offer virtual dollar cards for users to make payments internationally. So, you can generate a Visa virtual card with Eyowo. They also have a service called “cardless ATM withdrawal” that lets you access physical cash without your ATM card.
Eversend
Eversend is a financial app that lets you send money to mobile money or Eversend accounts in Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Nigeria & Uganda. You can hold and exchange six different currencies: GHC, KES, NGN, RWF, UGX & USD with Eversend. Eversend also lets you create a virtual USD card for services such as Netflix, Amazon, Google, Facebook, Apple Music and more. To protect against fraud, the card can be frozen and unfrozen anytime, with the tap of a button.
That’s all for now. If there is a platform that should be on this list, please let me know in the comments. Thanks
