Paul, Rohan and the Clubhouse team recently shared an announcement: “Our focus now is on opening up Clubhouse to the whole world. With that goal in mind for 2021, we have secured a new round in funding, led by Andrew Chen at a16z, who also led our Series A. But that’s not all, they also announced that they are working on an Android app that will be available later this year, 2021.
What is Clubhouse?
Clubhouse is a new type of chat, based on voice. When you open the app you can see “rooms” full of people talking—all open so you can hop in and out, exploring different conversations. You can also raise your hand to be allowed to speak. They are creating entirely new ways for people to come together, all through the power of voice. It’s like radio, except this time, you can speak with the host and be heard by everyone else!
